Equipment Grant

The Delaware Area Career Center has been awarded a substantial grant of $649,545 through the Ohio Career Technical Education Equipment Grant Program after applying for the highly competitive grant in December 2023. Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced the recipients of the grant during a press conference on Monday, March 4.

This grant marks a significant investment in the future of healthcare education within DACC’s district. The funds will be used to expand the Health Science programs and also add an additional certification for Sterile Processing.

“Expanding Health Science programs for secondary students is not just an investment in their future, but a vital contribution to the well-being of our community as a whole,” explained Tammy Hall, Director of Secondary Operations at DACC. “Six of the ten jobs listed on the Top Jobs Lists for Central Ohio are related to the Health Science Pathway.  We have students who are interested in pursuing that pathway.  It is a win-win that we will be able to help prepare students to help fill the in-demand positions.”

Governor DeWine said, “Investing in our schools is an investment into our students’ futures. Allowing more schools to purchase equipment so they can train more students will set them and our state up for success.”
