At the District 6 Public Speaking Career Development Events held recently, Delaware Area Career Center was well-represented by a group of our students, two of whom have qualified to move on to the state competition on March 2 at Marysville High School.
Freshman Ava Anderson took part in the Creed Speaking division and placed first, earning her a spot at the state event. Junior Aashvi Soni also secured a first-place finish in the prepared category, guaranteeing her advancement to the next level.
Additionally, three of our students participated and performed admirably, securing third place in their respective categories. Freshman Teagan Bryant in Creed Speaking, Junior Chelsie Kofi-Opata in Prepared, and Senior Lilly Cappitte in Advanced Prepared will serve as our district’s alternates for the state event.
We're proud of these five students for their effort and commitment. It's been rewarding to see their growth and how they've embraced the challenges of the competition. We're looking forward to seeing what Ava and Aashvi will achieve at the state level and wish them the best of luck.
This achievement is a reflection of the hard work our students put into their preparation for these events. It also speaks to the support and guidance they receive from their teachers and mentors at DACC. Congratulations to all the students who participated, and let's all offer our support to Ava and Aashvi as they prepare for their next competition.
