Noah Young, a 2023 graduate of DACC’s Landscape Architecture and Construction Technology program, is already making significant strides in his field. As a Jobsite Manager for Spring Berry Landscaping and Tree Service Inc., Noah’s passion and expertise have not only propelled his career forward but also positioned him as a potential future owner of the company. With his employer planning to retire in the next few years, Noah is being considered to take over the business—a testament to his dedication and skill.
Noah credits DACC with providing him the knowledge and practical experience that set him apart as a standout employee. “My employer told me he knew I’d be a great hire because I could confidently answer every question he asked about the tasks required of me. That confidence came from what I learned at DACC, especially from Mr. Kessler,” he shares. Through hands-on projects and real-world applications, Noah not only gained the knowledge but also learned how to put it into practice effectively. “Mr. Kessler’s guidance during our projects was instrumental in helping me truly understand and apply what I was learning.”
For current and future students, Noah offers a thought-provoking perspective on the value of trade schools: “What many don’t realize is the incredible opportunity trade schools offer. They provide a unique chance to explore potential careers, gain instrumental knowledge, and develop hands-on skills in a supportive environment, where mistakes are a part of learning, not a setback.” Noah highlights the accessibility and impact of trade schools, noting that many graduates, including some of his peers, have gone on to successful careers with top companies like NASA, Honda, and Environmental Management Inc.
He also underscores the importance of taking full advantage of the opportunities at DACC: “Success doesn’t come from just attending a trade school—it comes from putting in the effort, showing passion for your trade, and delivering results. Don’t see it as a way to pass time; see it as a pathway to a fulfilling career.”
