Andrew Toulmin, a 2018 graduate of DACC’s Construction Technology program, is excelling in the construction industry as an HVAC sheet metal installer with Mechanical Optimizers. Andrew’s journey showcases how a strong foundation in career and technical education can lead to success in a hands-on, in-demand trade.
Reflecting on his time at DACC, Andrew highlights the invaluable skills and knowledge he gained through the Construction Technology program. “DACC gave me a very good understanding of the aspects of the construction industry and the building processes,” he shares. These lessons not only prepared him for the technical demands of his current role but also helped him navigate the variety of career paths available in the construction field.
Andrew’s advice to current and future DACC students is both practical and inspiring: “Learn all that you can while you’re there. Ask as many questions as possible because the lessons you learn in class will help you in the years to come. There are so many career paths and trades in the construction industry to pursue. Find what you’re passionate about and go for it.”
