Brayden Coffin, a 2020 graduate of DACC’s Fire Service Training program and Olentangy Orange High School, is living his dream as a firefighter for the city of Memphis, Tennessee. Brayden’s passion for his career is evident as he shares how much he loves coming to work each day to help his community.
Reflecting on his journey, Brayden credits DACC for shaping his career path and setting him up for success. “As a sophomore in high school, I had no idea what life had in store for me. A teacher recommended DACC, and once I began my journey there, I knew I was in the right place,” he recalls. The program provided Brayden with the certifications, skills, and confidence he needed to excel in the fire service. “I graduated feeling way ahead of the pack. To this day, I tell people about the incredible training and career readiness DACC provided, and everyone says how lucky I was to have such an opportunity.”
Brayden’s gratitude extends to the instructors who guided him along the way. “The great instructors I had the pleasure to learn from were instrumental in my success,” he shares. “They go above and beyond to ensure their students are prepared for the future.”
For current and future DACC students, Brayden offers heartfelt advice: “Stay focused and take it seriously—you’re setting up a path for your entire life. The instructors and teachers are there because they love to teach and want to see you succeed. Take full advantage of the opportunity you’ve been given, don’t let it go to waste, and have fun along the way.”
