Diana Barry, a 2018 graduate of DACC’s Equine Science program, has come full circle in her career journey. After becoming a Veterinary Technician, Diana now works as the Veterinary Science Instructor at Tri-Rivers Career Center, where she shares her passion for animal science with the next generation.
Reflecting on her time at DACC, Diana credits the hands-on experience she gained during high school for setting her up for success in her college coursework and beyond. “Working hands-on in my career field while in high school prepared me in ways I never would’ve imagined,” she shares. Diana also draws inspiration from her former DACC instructor, Jennifer Kessler. “The skills and techniques demonstrated by my wonderful instructor now influence how I teach my own students. I’ve discovered a passion for not only animal science but also for preparing the future workforce.”
Diana’s advice to current and future DACC students is both motivating and insightful: “Learning is a choice you make every day. Never be content with the level of knowledge you have, and always seek to stretch your limits.”
Diana Barry’s story exemplifies how DACC programs not only prepare students for immediate success but also inspire them to discover new passions and become leaders in their fields. Her dedication to both veterinary science and education is a testament to the lasting impact of career and technical education.
