DACC Staff Spotlight: Heather Pitzer, English Instructor
Heather Pitzer is in her sixth year teaching at DACC. Before DACC, she was a stay-at-home mom for four years while her family moved around for her husband's job. They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she was an adjunct English teacher at Rogers State University and the president of the Owasso Chapter of the MOMS Club. Her family also lived in Oswego, Illinois. She’s taught at Marysville High School and Liberty-Benton High School.
When not at DACC, sports take up a lot of time in the Pitzer household. Both kids are active in sports (Ella plays football, basketball, and soccer and Anna plays soccer and is a competitive gymnast). Her family enjoys Buckeye football and basketball and are usually season ticket holders to Ohio State Women's Basketball games. They are also Blue Jackets fans. In the summers, Heather’s family spend a lot of time on the water, keeping their jet ski at Alum Creek, visiting Heather’s family at her grandma's cottage at Lake Erie, and taking a yearly family trip to Michigan with the Pitzer family. Her family does a lot of fishing, as well.
Heather and her husband Kyle have been married for 13 years. Kyle is a national account executive for KDP (Keurig Dr Pepper). They have two daughters who are in the Olentangy district. Ella is 11 and Anna is 7. They also have a dog, Carmen, a yellow Lab who is 14.
