Cara Napper, a graduate of DACC’s Health Technology and Nursing program, is pursuing an exciting career in the medical field. Having attended Worthington Kilbourne and Dublin Scioto High Schools, Cara is now a dedicated Float Phlebotomist for OhioHealth. As a Pre-Nursing major at Columbus State Community College, Cara has her sights set on long-term goals — she has applied for a multi-skilled tech position in the NICU at St. Ann’s Hospital.
We love to see Cara's passion for her work and commitment to advancing her career. “I love what I am doing now and hope to continue as I go through nursing school,” she shares.
Reflecting on her time at DACC, Cara highlights the impact the program has had on her career preparation. “DACC prepared me in many ways for my current and future jobs,” she says. The Health Technology program provided Cara with valuable certifications, including her STNA (State Tested Nursing Assistant), PCA (Patient Care Assistant), CPR, HIPAA, and OSHA certifications. She also had the unique opportunity to learn phlebotomy as part of the program, followed by on-site training at one of the OhioHealth labs.
Cara’s advice to current and future DACC students is both practical and encouraging: “Take everything you do there very seriously, but also have fun. I wouldn’t be where I am today without my time at DACC.”
Cara Napper’s journey is a testament to the comprehensive education and hands-on experience provided at DACC, and we are proud to celebrate her success in the healthcare field.
