Katerini Soisson attended Westerville North High School and graduated from DACC’s Health Technology program in 2018. She graduated from Mount Carmel College of Nursing with a BSN in 2022. Today, she is a registered nurse in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. She works in the perinatal specialty care unit and takes care of antepartum, postpartum, and gynecology patients, as well as newborns. She is so honored to care for the individuals and families of those who serve our country.
“Health technology helped prepare me for my career in nursing by teaching me about the fundamentals of nursing. Everything I learned from Health tech was built on in nursing school. I confidently walked into my first clinical because of the foundation I formed in Health technology. Also, I was able to work as a phlebotomist at Nationwide Children’s right out of high school because of the clinical hours I spent doing phlebotomy through Health Tech. Now that I’m working as a registered nurse, I utilize my fundamental nursing skills all the time, and it helps ensure good patient care. I am so grateful for my time at DACC.”
For current and future DACC students, Katerini has this advice to share, “Take every opportunity that your program offers! DACC is truly a great learning experience; it can allow you to gain education and skills that you can’t get from a normal high school classroom.”
