In a wonderful display of community spirit, our DACC/Dempsey Middle School CBI class recently participated in the 68th annual People In Need Holiday Clearinghouse event at the Delaware County Fairgrounds Coliseum. The Holiday Clearinghouse is an annual tradition that provides support to families during the holiday season.
The Dempsey Student Council kicked off this year’s food drive in November, collecting an impressive 700 pounds of food donations. The CBI class had the privilege of taking the collected items to the Coliseum. Once they arrived, the students took on the task of ensuring every donated item met quality standards, checking each item to guarantee it was not damaged or expired. Their commitment and enthusiasm were evident, creating a positive atmosphere.
"Serving others feels good," remarked one of the students, capturing a common sentiment among the students in attendance. Their efforts, alongside those of countless others at Dempsey Middle School, exemplify the impact of collective goodwill and the ability to make a positive difference during the holiday season.
