SkillsUSA Ohio

We are proud to announce that our students have once again showcased their skills and dedication at the annual SkillsUSA Ohio State Championships, with several bringing home top honors in their respective contests.

Over 30 DACC students competed in a diverse array of contests, participating in 17 different events ranging from Robotics and Automation Technology to Audio/Radio Production. This year’s event gathered more than 5,000 competitors along with business and industry partners, instructors, and vendors to celebrate the achievements of Career and Technical Education students across Ohio.

Our delegation also played a significant role in the electoral process, with five voting delegates actively involved in electing the new state officers for SkillsUSA. Zoey SanFillipo, who has served as a state officer, acted as Master of Ceremonies as awards were handed out.

Highlighting the achievements, DACC is thrilled to recognize the accomplishments of our students in several competitions:

  • Audio/Radio Production: Seniors Carson Marshall and Max Sanclemente continued their winning streak by clinching the first place for the second consecutive year. Having triumphed at last year’s Nationals in Atlanta, Carson and Max are poised to compete on the national stage again this June, with high hopes of achieving further success.

  • Horticulture: Senior Taelynn Ayers made her mark by finishing in second place in a newly introduced contest exclusive to Ohio. Having qualified through an FFA event, Taelynn’s accomplishment highlights the growing opportunities within CTE fields.

  • Robotics and Automation Technology: Juniors Stephen Mathew and Joel Hyer displayed exceptional skill, earning a bronze medal. Their determination is stronger than ever as they aim for the top spot in next year’s competition.

The SkillsUSA Championships are more than a competition; they are a pivotal part of our students’ education, providing them with real-world experience and the opportunity to develop skills that extend beyond the classroom. As these young professionals prepare for their future careers, the experiences and successes at SkillsUSA serve as a cornerstone of their development.

We are incredibly proud of all our competitors’ hard work and commitment. Their achievements reflect not only their personal dedication but also the high-quality education and training provided by the DACC. We look forward to their continued success and the innovations they will bring to their respective fields.

Congratulations to all our students, and thank you to the teachers, staff, and family members who support them every step of the way!
