Broadband Infrastructure Training Program

The Delaware Area Career Center is thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of its Broadband Infrastructure Training Program (BITP). Designed to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the broadband and telecommunications sector, this program offers adults the opportunity to pivot into a promising career field or enhance their existing skills.

Why Consider a Career in Broadband Infrastructure?
The BITP will provide students with the opportunity to work toward a thriving industry with compelling income potential. According to May 2021 State Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates for Ohio, careers in this field offer salaries ranging from $48,510 for Telecommunications Line Installers and Repairers to $71,750 for First-Line Supervisors of Mechanics, Installers, and Repairers. Additional career opportunities exist, including roles as Broadband Equipment Installation Technicians, Fiber Optic Cable Installers, and Broadband Equipment Troubleshooters & Technicians, among others.

What Will Participants Learn?
The program curriculum is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary for success in the field. Students will learn to use specialty tools and test equipment, terminate cables for various applications, follow safe work practices, and understand the intricacies of broadband equipment installations in homes, offices, and new constructions. Students will work toward earning a FOA Certified Fiber Optic Technician certification, a significant credential in the industry.
