DACC Summer Camp 2021

This 3-day summer camp is a great way to explore your career options, meet other students with similar interests, and participate in fun, hands-on projects. At this time, registration for DACC summer camps is full.

DACC is unable to distribute refunds after May 31, 2021 for any camper who does not attend.

Rising 7th - 9th grade students
Limited number of seats per camp

Camps:

Everyone Can Code! 
Using Swift Playgrounds, campers will learn to read and write basic code (no previous experience is required!). Developed in conjunction with Delaware County Extension and 4-H, this camp gives students the chance to use their new coding skills to work with Jimu Robot Meebots, Sphero Bolts, and Tello Drones. Campers will learn about career opportunities in coding along the way. Rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders are invited to join us for this summer camp.

Customized Collision Repair 
Join the professionals of DACC's Automotive Collision team to design and create your own custom airbrushed metal panel. Campers will engage in a hands-on project working with design elements, metal fabrication and air brush painting, while using the tools and equipment from the auto collision field. Please note: Students will be exposed to carving chisels, hammers, cardboard, sharp pen knives, water paint, and wood dust as a result of this activity.

Can You Build It? 
Calling all future architects & engineers! Please join us for DACC’s mini-STEM Summer Camp! Each day campers will be challenged to design, build, and test two small building projects. After each build, students will leave being able to explain their process and show what they accomplished. On the final day of camp, students will be challenged to compile all their new skills from the previous days to create a stand-alone tower made of balsa wood intentionally designed to hold the most weight.

Cybersecurity Camp
Are you a hacker? Tech-savvy and driven? Want to know more about Cybersecurity? Then this camp is for you! In this camp, analysts will look at setting up “AI” powered, Raspberry Pi Pwnagotchi to learn how it interacts with the surrounding WiFi environment. Campers will experience a mix of some hands-on lessons and simulations. All campers will take home their very own SD Card loaded with everything they build during camp.

3D Character Modeling & Design 
Please join us for DACC’s 3D Character Modeling & Design Summer Camp! During this camp students will get to explore 3D modeling while learning some basic fundamentals of character design and development. Students will learn to work in a 3D modeling environment to create, sculpt, texture and render their characters using Blender 3D modeling software. Rising 7th, 8th and 9th graders are invited to join us for this summer camp.

"Exercise" Your Potential 
"Exercise" your potential and spend the week exploring the world of athletic training, fitness, and wellness! Campers will spend time in DACC's fully equipped Exercise Science lab while they dive into topics like injury prevention, rehabilitation, group fitness techniques and personal training skills. Campers will experiment with physical therapy basics like wrapping and basic therapeutic techniques.

Hands-On Science Camp 
Please join us for DACC’s Hands-On Science Summer Camp! This camp is geared towards the most fun part of science - labs! We will explore topics like chemistry, physics and forensic science in a fun and hands-on way. Students will perform multiple science experiments to explore the world around us!

Future Law Enforcement Leaders 
Spend the week exploring the action-packed field of criminal justice and experience what it’s like to be an actual police academy cadet! This hands-on camp covers basic police patrol techniques, equipment (including a police car), police marching/maneuvering, self-defense techniques & physical fitness, the 24-hour clock, police radio procedures and fingerprinting. Campers will complete a child ID kit and observe a police dog (K-9 Unit) in action. *K9 Demo and police car are subject to scheduling & are not guaranteed.

The "Delaware Difference" 
Community Service has always been an integral part of the Delaware Difference. Campers will work on meaningful community service projects to show commitment to themselves, to others, and to their ability to shape the future. Service learning activities and projects will be incorporated into the day to help build teamwork and problem-solving skills.
