Fire Safety Inspector

The training provided in this class shall consist of not less than 72 hours of training and shall be taught in accordance with the objectives approved by the executive director.  The Final Examination will consist of 50 closed book and 50 open book questions.  The combined time permitted on the final examination will be 3 hours.  The closed book examination will be from the course objective created from the NFPA 1031 Standards.  The open book examination will test on the codes from the current Ohio Fire Code and Ohio Building Codes.

Entrance Requirements:
(1)  Each student shall be certified as a firefighter under section 4765.55 of the Ohio Revised Code.
(2)  Each student shall be employed by one of the following:
     a)  The office of the State Fire Marshal;

     b)  A firefighting agency as defined in division (A)(3) of section 9.60 of the Ohio Revised Code;

     c)  A private fire company as defined in division (A)(5) of section 9.60 of the Ohio Revised Code that is providing fire protection in accordance with division (B), (C), or (D) of section 9.60 of the Revised Code

COURSE COST:     $450.00 (tuition) + $95.00 (books) = $545.00
